Hi, Renee, Our department would like to apply to host one of the CRA-W recruitment events this year. Here are some specifics. 1. Scheduling constraints. Our department seminars are generally held Thursday afternoons at 3:30pm. Fall term begins September 22 and ends on December 3. Thursdays to avoid include November 11 and November 25 (university holidays), and September 23, October 21, October 28 and November 9 (other speaker commitments; Nov 9 is not a Thursday, but already is committed for a colloquium speaker). I expect that other dates will be taken up during the coming weeks. 2. Means of advertising to interested parties. We have a mailing list for our active ACM-W student chapter and our diversity listserve. Our College of Engineering has active SWE and WiE organizations whose members also would be interested, as would our Electrical and Computer Engineering Department students. There are a few small colleges in the metro Columbus area (e.g., Otterbein, Franklin, and Capital) whom we can make aware of this event as well. 3. Contact people. Bettina Bair (bbair@cse.ohio-state.edu; 614-292-2565) will be the local host. She is faculty advisor to the ACM-W chapter and co-leader, with Tim Long (long@cse.ohio-state.edu; 614-292-1408), of our diversity program. Our seminar chair is Prof. Gagan Agrawal (agrawal@cse.ohio-state.edu; 614-688-8450). The student liaison would be Betsy Beraduce (beraduce@cse.ohio-state.edu), president of the ACM-W chapter. All postal mail for these folks can be directed to: Department of Computer Science and Engineering The Ohio State University 2015 Neil Avenue Columbus, OH 43210 4. Information about the institution. There are over 50,000 students on the Ohio State campus. The closest airport is Port Columbus International (CMH), approximately 20 minutes from the campus. We offer the BSCSE, BS CIS, and masters and Ph.D. degrees in CIS. The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department offers the BSECE degree. The department has about 36 FTE faculty (11% female), about 950 undergrads (14% female), and 174 grad students (21% female). Please let me know if you have any other questions or need other information. I hope you're doing well. Stu
